Agenda aims to enhance government services related to citizen requirements in health, education and social sectors.

The agenda of the Second Government Summit, which will be held from 10 to 12 February, 2014, under the theme Leading Government Services, has been unveiled, highlighting the Summit’s focus on how governments can take advantage of technology and smart services and learn from the expertise of the aviation, hospitality and banking sectors to achieve excellence in government services to achieve citizen happiness.

His Excellency Mohammed Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Chairman of the Organizing Committee for the Government Summit,  said the Summit has adopted an efficient agenda that includes  vital topics focused on  leading  government services to take them to the next stage for  achieving  happiness for citizens.

“The Organizing Committee of the Summit chooses harmonious topics in a series of interactive and discussion sessions which will be delivered by a number of leaders and dignitaries, ministers, government officials, executives, managers from the private sector, experts and thinkers from various countries around the world,” said His Excellency.

“The new topics are very relevant and will enable the participants and speakers to find suitable development methods in the field of government services and transfer expertise and knowledge to all participating countries. They will also help promote the Government Summit as a global government forum for best practices and an annual forum for exchanging the experiences,” added Al Gergawi.

Stating that citizen happiness and economic productivity are directly impacted by the quality of healthcare, education and social services, Al Gergawi said the Summit will host effective sessions focused on these sectors. Key technological trends in smart education as well as the main opportunities and challenges that technology offers for the education sector will be discussed.

Al Gergawi said the Summit will also look at how global cities are adopting smart concepts of service delivery and adapting to the opportunities and challenges posed by the dynamics of the global economy.

The Summit agenda has been inspired by the quality service delivery model of leading international airlines, and the event offers an opportunity to discuss these benchmarks of reliable multi-channel service delivery, addressing the need of a wide range of customers across the globe, Al Gergawi said. The Summit will therefore bring together leaders of the world’s best airlines and will highlight how airlines design and manage a unique customer experience to deliver excellent services.

Sessions have been designed to offer insights on the experiences of world-renowned experts from the banking sector and leading hospitality organizations around the world to improve and deliver an efficient customer experience in government.

Agenda includes sessions that will explore current possibilities before governments to make the best out of latest advances in technology and translate them into efficient services to enhance citizen happiness and quality of life. The event will discuss how governments as well as private corporations are devising new ways to use technology to take services to the next level and to create public-private partnerships that generate value to citizens.

The Summits agenda highlights several other important issues related to the future governments, best world practices and international cooperation in service delivery.
