Women’s participation in public and economic life strengthens equitable governance, economic growth, and public trust, from the community level to top policymaking circles. When the people who set public policy are more representative of the societies they serve, they enjoy greater public trust and focus more on issues such as human development and public service delivery. The Women in Government Forum‘s “Women in Government Leadership 2023 Report” analyzes the findings of global research and data to establish a baseline of where we are now, and where we need to be through specific and actionable considerations that help increase women’s representation in government leadership roles.
