Data Privacy: Are We Safe?

Brief

In a world where data is omnipresent and omniscient, what becomes of personal privacy and autonomy? The role of governments in the realm of data is a role that oscillates between being protectors of their citizens' data and collectors of vast amounts of information. This session will explore the fine line that governments tread: is the government's role in data collection a step towards a more secure and efficient society, or does it edge us closer to a dysphoric reality where privacy becomes alien?
