Will the Earth's Population Be Vaccinated by 2021?
Brief
2020 saw a global pandemic that had put the world in an unprecedented lockdown. Scientists, researchers, and governments rushed to develop vaccines to ensure that a global pandemic didn’t lead to a prolonged global catastrophe. Globally, several vaccines have been launched and are already being administered around the globe. However, there are still several challenges that governments need to overcome, such as vaccine availability, logistics, and also minimizing vaccine hesitancy that is on the rise globally. Equitable vaccine distribution requires collaboration to create solutions for the multiple challenges it currently faces, and to make it easier for the world to share the vaccine. In this session, we are joined by H.E. Macky Sall, President of the Republic of Senegal, H.E. Sultan bin Sulayem, Group Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of DP World, Henrietta Fore, Executive Director, UNICEF, Dr. David Nabarro, Special Envoy on COVID-19 of the World Health Organization and Pascal Soriot, Chief Executive Officer of AstraZeneca to share their insights and address what a year ahead with vaccines will look like, and what that implies for nations worldwide.
